Suitable for Freshwater and Saltwater Enviorments
- Easy to use
- Helps to clarify water
- Can be cut to the required size
Rio® Ammonia Pad
The Rio® Ammonia Pad is a universal filter pad which neutralizes toxic ammonia in an aquatic enviorment.
Rio® Carbon Pad
The Rio® Carbon Pad is a universal carbon filter that acts as two filters in one. With 100% active carbon, this versitile pad removes free-floating debris and aids in the removal of odors and discolored water simultaneously.
Rio® Micro Pad
The Rio® Micro Pad is a universal filter pad specializing in trapping micro particles and fine debris as water is filtered through. Using technologically engineered polar group molecules, this filter helps create "crystal clear water."
Rio® Nitrate+Nitrite Pad
The Rio® Nitrate+Nitrite Pad is a dense chemical filter pad that neutralizes nitrate and toxic nitrite found in freshwater aquariums. By reducing the posiibility of nitrite poisoning, this pad assists in reducing fish stress caused by the presence of nitrate.
Rio® Phos Pad
The Rio® Phos Pad is specially crafted to adress two common water quality issues in aquariums and ponds - phosphate accumulation and suspended particles. With its unique components targeting phosphates, this innovative filter helps eliminate the primary food source of algae growth and while helping clarify the water.
The Rio® Filter Pads allows the user the ability to cut and shape a pad to suit any filtration system including:
Hang on the Back Filters, Canister Filters, Trickle Filters, Mini Reef Systems, Top Filters, Internal Filters, Pond Filters, DIY Filters, and any other Aquarium or Pond Filtration system requiring additional mechanical filtration assistance to help reduce ammnia and maintain improved water quality.
- Lay your current filter pad on top of the new Filter Media and measure the size you will be using.
- Cut the new Filter Pad slighlty larger as the old one may have shrunk or become distorted over usage.
- Verfiy that the pad fits your filter. Trim if needed, then place inside the filter.
- Discard your old filter pad responsibly.
NOTE
We suggest you replace the filter pads within 8 to 12 weeks of installation for maximum efficiency. For repeated high levels, try to determine the cause.
CAUTION
The Carbon Pad must be removed when using any medication as it can remove the medication for the water column. Please remeber that the microscopic pores in the Carbon Pad can fill with debris overtime. Once they do, the efficiency of the pad can release previously collected debris back into your aquarium.
